U.S. Delegation to Meet with Iranian Religious Leaders and President

So apparently a delegation, consisted mostly of U.S. religious leaders from different Christian sects have met with Iranian leaders, including President Ahmadinejad, to see if there are ways for dialogue and normalization of relationship. Here’s what they concluded,

As additional steps in building bridges between our nations, we call upon both the U.S. and Iranian governments to:

* immediately engage in direct, face-to-face talks;
* cease using language that defines the other using “enemy” images; and
* promote more people-to-people exchanges including religious leaders, members of Parliament/Congress, and civil society.

Pretty good stuff, just way too optimistic. I don’t know man, I can’t see how Iran and the U.S. can be friends again with the kind of attitudes they have towards each other.
